In the winter of 2006, StartLogic received HackerSafe certification for its web site, StartLogic.com. HackerSafe is a web site certification process used by over 75,000 web sites that helps protect site visitors from identity theft and fraud.
As a result of passing this certification process, StartLogic.com now displays the HackerSafe logo. A web site that displays the HackerSafe logo is tested daily to ensure the site’s ecommerce infrastructure meets its highest security standards. If the site does not pass a daily scan, the logo will disappear from the site.
“Internet security is a very important issue that we take seriously,” says Justin Reynolds, Online Marketing Manager for StartLogic. “Implementing the HackerSafe program on our site is just one more way to ensure our customers receive the service from us they deserve.”

If you have ever transferred domain registration, then you know it is important to ensure the administrative contact email address is up to date.
The administrative contact email address is kept on file with the domain registrar and is used as a point of contact. If the email address no longer exists, is not working, or is otherwise inaccessible, then problems can ensue.
Checking the administrative contact email address is a fairly straightforward process. A service called whois will check the status of a domain and list the contact details. Some example whois service web sites include centralops.net and dnsstuff.com.
Remember, it is very important to have a working administrative contact email address. If the address is not valid, it may lead to certain uncomfortable situations including lost domain names, lost emails, and downtime.
The administrative contact email address may be updated by contacting the domain registrar. The registrar, in most cases, may be found by performing a whois on the domain.

It's often suggested that companies give something away on their website. The reason is to provide a low-commitment next step, for potential customers that aren’t quite ready to buy. Sometimes this ‘give-away’ is just more information, but it allows the site visitor to declare an increased level of interest, without the full commitment of a purchase.
